Every hour an engine runs, it pulls several hundred cubic metres of air through a filter the size of a bucket. On a demolition site or a quarry that air carries more abrasive dust than the engine can tolerate, and the wear it causes is invisible until the rings are gone. Of all the parts money spent on a Kobelco, air filtration returns the most per dollar — and it is also the area where the most shortcuts are taken, because a filter that looks clean can be a filter that is passing dust.
Two elements, two different jobs
Most SK machines use a dual-element intake: an outer element that catches the bulk of the dust, and an inner safety element behind it that catches what the outer one passes. The outer element is a service item; the inner element is a failure item. It exists to protect the engine on the day the outer element is punctured, seated badly after cleaning, or simply run past its limit. Removing the inner element "to check it" and refitting it is one of the most common ways to introduce dust downstream.
The numbers
Our stock records quote YN11P00034R100 as the air filter set for the SK200-8, and LE11P00011F1KG3 as the air filter assembly for the SK60-8 and SK75-8 compact class. The SK200-8 family also appears under YN11P00029F1 / YN11P00034F1 in the same record set, a normal multi-marking situation on Kobelco filtration: the same element is quoted under more than one number. Send us the number you have and the machine serial number, and we will tell you which element and which safety element belong together — ordering the outer without the inner is how a machine ends up with a mismatched pair. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. ships both elements as a set when a customer asks for a service kit.
Restriction, not colour
The single most useful accessory on the intake is the restriction indicator on the housing. It reads the vacuum the engine has to pull to breathe, and it tells you when the element is loaded — with dust you cannot see from the outside. A filter that looks grey and dusty may be well inside its limit; a filter that looks clean may be loaded with fine clay. If the machine has no indicator, fit one, or check with a water manometer at full load. Guessing by eye is how elements get changed too early (wasted money) or too late (dust past the seal). The element families we stock are listed under filters and lubricants, and the machine-side details for the 20-tonne class are on the SK200 page. For the intake and filtration design behind the numbers, Kobelco's official site publishes the machine specifications.
Cleaning discipline
Cleaning is allowed, but it is not free. Dry compressed air at low pressure, nozzle held at least 200 mm from the pleats, blown from the clean side outward, is the only method that does not drive dust into the media. Never wash a paper element, never tap it against a tyre, and never use a high-pressure lance. Most manufacturers allow a limited number of cleaning cycles before the element must be replaced regardless of appearance, because each cleaning slightly damages the pleat surface. On a machine working in dust, the honest calculation is that elements are cheaper than a top-end rebuild — replace at the recommended interval. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. supplies outer and inner elements together so the pair is never mismatched, and we will say plainly when a cheaper aftermarket element is a false economy for your site.
The leaks after the service
Most dust ingestion starts with a service, not with a worn filter. A clamp left loose, a boot not seated on the turbo inlet, a housing latched on one side, a cracked plastic elbow — these pass more dust than a loaded element ever will. After every filter change, run a hand around the housing joints with the engine at idle and feel for suction, and look for the tell-tale dust trail that marks a leak path on the clean side of the ducting. A five-minute check after each service is worth more than any additive.
Before you order
Send the machine model, serial number and the number printed on the end cap of the element you are replacing. Photographs help: element diameter and height vary across the range and a wrong-size element will fit loosely enough to seal badly. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. keeps 3,000+ part types on the shelf and 100,000+ part numbers available to order, and filtration is a stock line. For multi-brand fleets, our sister site corbayparts.com covers the wider filter range outside the Kobelco family. Email kobelco-parts@foxmail.com or WhatsApp +86-18144825432.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the air filter number for a Kobelco SK200-8?
Our stock records quote YN11P00034R100 as the air filter set for the SK200-8, with YN11P00029F1 and YN11P00034F1 also appearing for the same family. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. confirms the outer and inner element pair against your serial number before shipping.
How often should I replace the air filter on a Kobelco excavator?
Follow the restriction indicator rather than a fixed calendar. In clean conditions an element can run a long service interval; in demolition or quarry dust it may load in a fraction of that. Replace when the indicator shows restriction after cleaning, and always replace the inner safety element whenever the outer one is punctured.
Can I wash a Kobelco air filter element?
No. Paper media must not be washed or tapped clean; water swells the pleats and tapping damages the surface that does the filtering. Dry compressed air at low pressure from the clean side is the only acceptable cleaning method, and only for a limited number of cycles.
Why does my excavator smoke after an air filter change?
A boot or clamp left loose after the service lets unmetered air past the sensor, which reads lean and over-fuels. Check every joint between the housing and the turbo inlet. If the smoke persists, Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. can supply the intake boots and clamps for the SK range from stock.
