New Genuine, OEM, Aftermarket or Remanufactured: Choosing the Grade for a Kobelco Assembly

Four grades, four price points, four different risk profiles. Where each one makes sense on a Kobelco pump, travel motor, swing motor or turbo, and what to confirm before you commit.

Every Kobelco quotation we issue names a grade, and the grade sets both the price and the risk. On a small consumable the choice hardly matters; on a pump, a travel motor, a swing motor or a turbocharger it decides whether the machine is back on hire next week. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. has supplied Kobelco parts since 2007 and declares every line as genuine, OEM or aftermarket, so this guide explains where each grade belongs.

The four grades, defined plainly

Genuine means the part supplied in the manufacturer's own packaging through the original supply channel, and for Kobelco machines that is how we buy — through the original supply channel. OEM means the component made by the same manufacturer that supplies the assembly line, sold under that manufacturer's name rather than the machine brand: a Nabtesco travel motor or a turbocharger built by the original supplier falls into this group. Aftermarket means an independent manufacturer's equivalent, built to fit and function, at a lower price. Remanufactured means an original core rebuilt to specification with worn items replaced, and it is the grade that needs the most careful qualification, because quality varies more between rebuilders than between factories.

GradeBest used forWhat to confirm before ordering
GenuineMachines under warranty or on critical hire contractsThat the number is current, not superseded
OEMAssemblies where the original maker is identifiableThat the maker on the nameplate matches the original fitment
AftermarketHigh-turnover consumables and older machinesFitment evidence and the supplier's own warranty position
RemanufacturedMajor assemblies on mature machines with known core conditionWhat was replaced inside, and by whom

Where the graders actually disagree

The settlement between risk and price happens at the assembly level, not the part level. A 20-tonne class pump such as 2924610-0030 / YN10V00005S156 makes the point: a genuine assembly, an OEM or aftermarket equivalent, and a rebuild of the customer's own core are all available. The three differ in price and in the confidence you can place in the next 5,000 hours. A travel motor is the same story — the SK200-8 class uses the Nabtesco GM38VB family with assembly numbers YN15V00037F1, YN15V00037F2 and YN15V00037F3, and internal repair items such as 800D2103-00 / YN15V00037R420C and C800D2016-00 / YN15V00037S116 are commonly replaced on a rebuild of that unit.

When cheap is genuinely expensive

Three situations push a buyer back up the grades. The first is a machine on a hire contract with penalties for downtime, where the difference between two grades is smaller than the cost of one lost day. The second is a fault caused by debris inside a hydraulic circuit: fitting a low-grade replacement into a contaminated system destroys it as well, so the circuit is cleaned before any assembly is chosen. The third is a turbocharger on a small-displacement engine working close to its limit — on the J05E the turbocharger is quoted as 787873-5001S / VH241004631A, and a cheap unit fitted to a machine with an unresolved intake restriction simply repeats the failure.

Shenyue tip: tell us the machine, its hours and its duty, not just the part number. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. will quote the grades that make sense for that machine side by side, name the internal repair items separately, and declare each line as genuine, OEM or aftermarket so the comparison is like for like.

What to ask before a remanufactured assembly is accepted

Ask three questions and accept nothing less. Which internal parts were replaced, by part number — not by description? Was the core the machine's own or an exchange unit? And what exactly does the warranty cover, including the labour position? A rebuild that replaces the rotating group but reuses a scored housing is not the same product as one that replaces both, and both are marketed as remanufactured. The same discipline applies to internal repairs: for a wear item inside an assembly, our export brand site at corbayparts.com covers the same grade structure across a wider multi-brand range.

Checking the grade before the money moves

Grade disputes almost always trace back to a number that was never verified, so check the number and its current status before deciding the grade. Our part number search lists what is held with machine compatibility, the genuine vs counterfeit guide covers how a packaging claim is actually tested, and the parts category pages group the range by system. Anything that cannot be confirmed from our records is quoted as commonly quoted, with the nameplate treated as the authority. Our team is reachable through the contact page.

How we supply

Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. has specialised in Kobelco since 2007, with 4 warehouses over 1000 m² in Guangzhou, 3,000+ part types on the shelf and 100,000+ part numbers available to order through original supply channels. Shenyue is an independent supplier and is not an authorized dealer of Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.; for Kobelco, Hino, Isuzu, Yanmar, Cummins, Kawasaki, Nabtesco, KYB and KPM we supply genuine parts ordered through original supply channels alongside quality replacement alternatives at prices close to agent level, and the five brands we hold formal authorization for — Mitsubishi, Garrett, TONGMYUNG, Marusan and NIKURA — are named on every quotation. Published turbocharger and component information from the original equipment makers, including Garrett, is a useful cross-reference when an OEM assembly has to be identified by bore and application.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between genuine and OEM Kobelco parts?

Genuine means the part is supplied in the manufacturer's own packaging through the original supply channel. OEM means the same component is made by the manufacturer that supplies the assembly line but sold under that manufacturer's name — a Nabtesco travel motor or an original-equipment turbocharger, for example.

Are aftermarket parts safe for a Kobelco hydraulic pump?

They can be, provided the application matches and the circuit is clean. Aftermarket parts make most sense on high-turnover consumables and older machines. On a pump, a swing or travel motor or a turbocharger, decide on the machine's duty and the cost of downtime, with every line declared as genuine, OEM or aftermarket before ordering.

What should I ask about a remanufactured Kobelco travel motor?

Ask which internal parts were replaced — by part number — whether the core was the machine's own or an exchange unit, and exactly what the warranty covers including labour. Our records quote the SK200-8 class Nabtesco GM38VB assemblies as YN15V00037F1, YN15V00037F2 and YN15V00037F3, with internal repair items such as 800D2103-00 / YN15V00037R420C and C800D2016-00 / YN15V00037S116.

Can Shenyue quote two grades side by side for the same assembly?

Yes, and that is usually the best way to decide. Send the machine designation and serial, the hour meter and the component nameplate photograph; Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. returns the suitable grades side by side with the internal repair items named separately and every line declared genuine, OEM or aftermarket.
