SK460-8, SK480LC and SK495: One 45-48 Tonne Platform, Three Different Part Lists

These three badges sit on one Kobelco platform family, which is why some lines cross over and others never do. How the LS30, LS50 and VH prefixes carry the answer, what our records quote against which machine, and why Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. asks for the serial every time.

Buyers meet this family the hard way. A machine arrives badged SK460-8, SK480LC or SK495, the fitter is sure the filter he took off "looks the same" as the one on the next machine, and the order goes out on a description. Our own SK480LC model page states the relationship plainly: the SK480LC shares its platform family with the SK460, and parts coverage for both comes from the same verified supply chain with fitment checked against the machine serial. Here is how that platform is numbered, and where the numbers stop agreeing.

One platform, several badges

Kobelco has always built families rather than single machines. In the 45 to 48 tonne bracket the SK460, SK480LC and SK495 belong to one platform story: the structure, the undercarriage class and much of the filtration carry across, while the badge changes with the market the machine was sold into and the specification it was ordered to. The useful consequence is that most of what you stock for one machine will fit another. The dangerous consequence is that most is not all.

The prefixes tell you the platform

On this class, the LS30 and LS50 prefixes mark platform-level parts, which makes them the fastest way to check a quotation. LS30 sits on the big filtration and coupling lines, LS50 on filtration of the larger SK500 class, and LS52 on the hydraulic return and sensing side, where it appears against the SK495 as well as against referenced R200 and R210 machines. The VH prefix marks the engine group instead: this class ran the Hino P11C family, so its engine consumables look like Hino numbers rather than Kobelco ones.

Read the third column as carefully as the second. The oil filter line is recorded against the SK460-8 while the suction hose is recorded against all three machines, and that difference is the platform boundary in practice. Where a line shows several numbers, that is one assembly with multiple markings rather than a choice of alternatives; any one of them can be confirmed against the parts book for your serial range.

Shenyue tip: quote the model, the serial and the engine plate together. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. reads all three before confirming anything on this platform, holds 3,000+ part types on the shelf and has 100,000+ part numbers available to order, declaring every line genuine, OEM or aftermarket on the quotation.

Where the platform stops agreeing

The engine is the clearest example. This class is a Hino P11C family in most markets and its consumables carry VH numbers, but the same structural class sold into a different market can be delivered with a different power unit, and then nothing in the engine bay crosses over. The undercarriage is the opposite problem: chains, rollers, idlers and shoes mostly do interchange across the family, but shoe width and link count are specification items rather than platform items, so they have to be read off the machine and never assumed from the badge.

The procedure for a mixed 45-tonne fleet is short. Treat the structure, the undercarriage class and the platform filtration as shared. Treat the engine group, the electrics and anything specified by the original order as machine-specific until the plate says otherwise. Four minutes with a phone camera beats a return shipment across an ocean, which is why Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. asks for the serial on every enquiry. The logic behind the prefixes themselves is set out in our part number prefix guide.

Ordering for this class

Send the model, the serial, the engine plate and a photograph of the failed component. On this platform the suction hose, the coupling and the return filter are the lines most often ordered by description and most often returned, and all three are resolved from the nameplate rather than from the badge. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. confirms fitment against the serial before anything is quoted. Hino publishes its own engine service information at hino-global.com, and Kobelco publishes the machine-side information at kobelco.co.jp. Buyers who also run other brands will find the same family logic applied across the catalogue on our sister export site, excavatorpartsglobal.com. The consumables discussed here sit in the filters and lubricants range, and anything unclear is fastest resolved with plate photographs through contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do SK460-8 and SK480LC filters interchange?

Some do, some do not, and the badge will not tell you which. Our records quote the oil filter group as VH15601E0070J2M / LS30T01001P1 / VHS156072281 / VHS156072360 / VHS156072150 / VH15601E0230 recorded against the SK460-8, while the hydraulic suction hose LS30H01190P1 is recorded against the SK460-8, SK480-8 and SK495 together.

Why does an SK460-8 carry Hino part numbers?

Because this class runs the Hino P11C engine family, and the VH prefix marks engine-group parts in the same way YN, LC and LS prefixes mark machine-group parts. Our records quote the fuel filter as VHS234011640J1M recorded against the P11C and SK460-8, which is why an engine consumable looks like a Hino number.

What do I need to send for a quotation on this platform?

Model, serial number, engine plate and a photograph of the failed component. Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. checks fitment against the serial rather than the badge, holds 3,000+ part types on the shelf with 100,000+ part numbers available to order, and declares every line genuine, OEM or aftermarket.

Is the LS52 prefix used on this class?

Yes. LS52 appears on the hydraulic return and sensing side, and our records quote the return filter group as LS52V01006R210 / LS52V01006R200 recorded against the SK495D, with the hydraulic oil temperature sensor LS52S00046P1 recorded against the SK220-10 and SK500. Read the component plate to confirm which one your machine carries.
